What is LipSense and why is it so magical?
LipSense® is the premier product of SeneGence® and is totally unlike any conventional lipstick, stain or color around! It is waterproof, does not kiss-off, smear-off, rub-off or budge-off! You can also create your own color palette by combining colors from over 50 shades. Plus it is non-GMO, cruelty-free, gluten-free, wax-free, lead-free and made in the USA. From the first time I tried it I was hooked.
Are there any preservatives?
There aren't! LipSense is self-preserved. The liquid delivery system naturally kills germs and bacteria.
How do I apply it?
When you order you will get a tips and tricks card to have for reference, but here's the down low:
Start with clean & dry lips!
Shake you lipsense color (for about 20-30 seconds) to activate.
Apply with lips parted - this is important!
Begin at one corner of your bottom lip.
In sweeping motion, brush to the other corner of your bottom lip. Try not to go back and forth!
For your upper lip, begin at your Cupid's bow and move to the outer edge of your lip and then repeat for the other side.
Keep lips parted for 5-10 seconds to dry before applying the next coat!
Repeat 2 more times (so 3 layers total!), and don't forget to give it a few seconds in between.
Finish your look with gloss to seal in your color and moisturize.
Reapply gloss as needed throughout the day!
How long does the tube last?
If you're using the same color everyday, the lip colour will last for about 4 – 6 months. However, if you're like me and want alllll the colors you'll constantly change and mix up what you use each day, so that will extend the longevity of the product. The shelf life is about 3 years.
Why do I need to start with the starter kit?
They all work together! Our starter kit includes: 1 lipsense color, 1 gloss (I recommend our most popular and most moisturizing Glossy gloss to start!), and 1 ooops! remover. The long-lasting properties of lipsense is enhanced by using one of the glosses along with it. The lipsense glosses were formulated to work with the long-lasting technology of lipsense, whereas other gloss formulations may break down the staying power of lipsense. In addition, the glosses are incredibly moisturizing and help to keep your lips feeling smooth and soft. Once you buy your starter kit, you can buy as many colors as you want on their own and re-order glosses and ooops as needed.
Why do I need to apply gloss multiple times in a day?
As you eat and drink throughout the day, the gloss (not the color!) comes off and needs to be reapplied to keep the color looking fresh and increase its staying power. If you are using the product properly you will see that the color will last a long time.
Why do my lips tingle when applying the lip color?
The first time you try LipSense it can tingle! This is because your lips are dry and not sufficiently moisturized. Don't worry! The sensation will stop once you've finished the application and applied the moisturizing gloss. Dry lips can be a culprit from repeated use of wax and paraffin based lipsticks, which, by their nature, can build up and cause dry lip tissue. You can eliminate this stopping the use of any wax based products. Once you use the lipsense and the moisturising gloss on a regular basis your dry lips will be gone forever! Try to give lipsense two weeks of consistent wear every day and I guarantee you will notice a difference, not only in feeling but appearance.
How do I get this stuff off?
The ooops! remover is specially designed to take your lipsense off at the end of the day (as well as mistakes that can occur when applying your lip color!). To get your color off completely, brush the ooops! remover once on your top lip and bottom lip. Rub your lips together for 30 seconds then wipe off with a microfiber cloth.
Can I combine colors?
Yes! This is one of the most fun parts of lipsense. For example, if you have 3 lipsense colors you can get 27 different combinations, by layering in different order! This is just another reason why this product is so amazing.
Does lipsense have spf?
It doesn't; however, the proprietary formulations and color pigments in lipsense help to create a physical covering for the lips! Because of that, the color pigments help to protect and seal the lips from the sun’s rays.
